I never had the privilege of seeing you play but my Grandad did and he played professionally before you and he always said that he'd seen them all, Pele, Eusebio, Maradona, etc, but the best player he ever saw was you. That's been good enough for me all my life. God bless you Sir Tom. May you rest in peace. A true Legend.

I saw most of Tom Finneys home matches with my father including his last match. He was an excellent ambassador for the sport unlike some of the stars of todays game.He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.A true legend who will never be forgotten.

I shall never forget the first time I saw the great man play. It was a grey December day in 1947 and Derby County were the visitors. Sir Tom dispelled the gloom for me that day with his memorable display - PNE 7 DERBY COUNTY 4. I saw him many more times in his illustrious career and had the great pleasure of meeting him on a number of occasions. Preston has lost a great son but heaven has gained the best footballer who ever lived - RIP Sir Tom

I consider myself a very lucky person as I did see the great man play & also met him when he had a cup of tea at my parents home when I was young.
